Week 2 has been frustrating to say the least. My goal this week was to get started on the geometric portrait and get around half of it finished. To get started on the piece I needed to print out a picture of the piece I wanted to do. When it came to printing it out we ran into many complications. First the printer was out of ink, so we had to get more. Then the first print of it was way too small, next one had lines running through the image(aka destroying it), and lastly the next two were just blurry. So while I'm waiting for my mom to get the correct version printed at her work, I am going to practice my shading shills for when I do the piece. I am also going to research some more ideas for after week 3's piece is done. IDEAS FOR NEXT WEEK:
Daily Doodle - Below is just a small doodle I did. Although I didn't do this for my genius hour project, I thought it would still be neat to incorporate it in my website.

Art has always been something I truly enjoy doing! I'm hoping this project will give me not only a different outlook on art but life as well. I am looking forward to getting into the many different styles and techniques I'll be doing. I am also a bit worried that not all 20 pieces for portfolio will be complete by the end of the semester. I am hoping that having a good time line and plan built, I'll be able to spread the work out evenly and get it all done! PORTFOLIO & BEGINNING IDEAS This week I will be working on my portfolio, which will contain all of the art pieces I accomplish during this project. I will design and make the portfolio myself. My plan is to cover the portfolio in many shapes and colors and make it an eye appealing piece. I may even start on the first actual art piece this week too. My idea is to do a geometric portrait, which is basically a portrait of someone made up of shapes containing lines of different thickness. All I am really doing is contrasting the darker shapes and lines with the lighter shapes and lines, to give off the appearance of a face. I have already consulted a former art teacher of mine(Mrs.Allen) on how to really do the contrasts and highlights correctly. Lastly I have already done a sample this week of what the design will look like on my portfolio.
